What each topic needs

• Syllabus reference — the actual spec number, so it's traceable back to the official syllabus.
• Tier — Core, Extended, or Both, if your syllabus splits that way.
• Content — the specific subtopics and vocabulary this topic covers.
• Suggested teaching activities — enough detail that future-you can pick this plan back up without re-deriving it.
• Learning outcome — what a student should be able to do by the end.
• Assessment objectives — which AOs this topic actually addresses.
• Key dates — anything specific to this topic: a mock, a coursework deadline.

Why week-pinning beats a topic list

A flat list of topics tells you what you'll cover, not when. Assigning each topic to an actual week — even roughly — turns your plan into something you can check against the calendar: how many weeks until your exam series, and how many of your topics still don't have a week at all.

Checking you'll actually finish in time

Count how many of your topics have a week assigned, and how many don't. If a meaningful chunk are still unplaced with only a handful of weeks left before your entries close, that's worth knowing now — not in the exam series itself.
